“Six months after a stroke (brain bleed) I’m on a great road right now and enjoying how it’s all unfolding. Thank you Bill for the part you have played in helping me move forward with courage and anticipation of all the good things still to come. Through your coaching, I have a much clearer understanding of what I can do to take responsibility for my own recovery, particularly in the area of nutrition. I think that because you have experienced this condition yourself, you are ideal to coach in this area. In addition, though, you have such a good heart and give much more than could be expected.”

Stroke recovery can feel confusing.
Especially after rehab ends.
Many stroke survivors expect that once they leave hospital or
formal therapy, life will gradually return to normal.
But for many people, the real challenge begins afterwards.
Progress slows down. Motivation becomes harder to mai-
ntain. Conflicting advice becomes overwhelming. And it can
start to feel like nobody truly understands what life after
stroke is actually like.
The physical recovery is only one part of the experience.
There is also:
- Frustration
- Isolation
- Emotional exhaustion
- Uncertainty
- Loss of confidence
- Fear about the future
- and the feeling of being stuck.
Sometimes what people need most is not another medical
appointment.
Sometimes they simply need:
- Guidance
- Accountability
- Structure
- Support
- and someone who understands the journey firsthand.

Prior to my stroke, I was a drug and alcohol abuser, had a horrible diet, was a fat load, and was losing my family. While I understand what Bill is saying about losing the old you. The old me caused my stroke. But ironically, my stroke saved my life. I don't miss the old me. That said, I was overcome with crushing guilt about what I did to myself and my family. Three years later and things are light years better. Thank God.

Hi Bill, thank you for describing all those points which mostly stroke survivors are going through. Human brain is a complex mixture of tissues. That is really true, it is an endless recovery. It is a harsh reality but accepting it is part of the journey.

Hi Bill, thanks for sharing. I had a stroke in February 2025, I was paralysed on my left side. I am 39. I was in hospital for 5 weeks then the doctor was happy for me to go home and recover. I am doing physio twice a day. I hope to walk properly. I can drive, drop off the kids, do housework -- which is good. Hopefully full recovery will happen.

Thank you, Bill. The key take away for me is that there is no end point on recovery. I need to learn to enjoy the journey and not focus on arriving at the destination.

Thank you Bill for this content. It is helpful -- I understand so much better. I was wondering why I felt so tired and my personality changed. This gives me and others hope.

Bill Gasiamis…
Whether you've been navigating your recovery for weeks,
months, or years, I know first-hand how overwhelming it can feel.
When progress plateaus, new challenges arise, and you watch
life continue around you, sometimes what helps most is having
someone to talk to who has genuinely been where you are.
Through years of recovery, trial and error, and permanent
changes to how I live my life after stroke, I've been able to rebuild
something I'm proud of. And now, I show up every day to support
stroke survivors like you to do the same.
From rebuilding confidence, to regaining structure, to simply
feeling less alone in the process -- I wholeheartedly believe that
progress is still possible for you, no matter how long it has been.
